Entry requirements for Bachelor’s Degree programmes (UKMi, Executive, PBJJ)
Local Candidate
- SPM qualification with credit in Malay Language or Malay Language July Paper and pass in History; and
- Obtained at least Band 1 in MUET; and
- Obtained APEL certification for Degree (Level 6)
For candidates with STPM qualification;
Passed STPM with at least a CGPA of 2.00 and obtained at least:
- Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in General Paper; and
- Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects.
or
For Post-Matriculation Candidates
Passed KPM/UM Science Foundation / UiTM Science Foundation / UiTM TESL Foundation / UiTM Engineering Foundation / KPT Law Foundation Matriculation with at least a CGPA of 2.00.
or
For Candidates with Diploma or equivalent;
Obtained a Diploma qualification or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the University Senate; or
Passed STPM in 2019 or before with at least a CGPA of 2.00 and obtained at least:
- Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in General Paper and
- Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects.
or
Passed Matriculation exams in 2019 or before with at least a CGPA of 2.00; or
Passed STPM examination in 2019 or before, with at least a Jayyid.
International Candidate
- Complete 12 years of Primary and High School education; and
- Obtain High School Certificate (e.g. Higher Secondary Certificate, Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate, Tawjihiyah, Ijazah Sekolah Menengah Atas, High School Diploma); and
- Meet the minimum English requirement set by faculty; and
- Pass UKM interview (if required); and
- Meet the faculty specific requirements;
Entry requirements for Master’s programmes
- A person who intends to apply for a master’s programme should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree by obtaining a good Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from a University or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/or having accreditation recognized by a foreign Accreditation Body, or institution who has accreditation as prescribed by a programme;
- Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University or any institution of higher learning or an equivalent degree from any institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate;
- any other qualification recognised by the Senate obtained through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL);
- fulfils other requirements prescribed by the programme (if applicable); and
- fulfils requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
- obtained APEL certification for master (Level 7)
Entry requirements for Doctoral programmes
- A person who intends to apply for a doctoral programme should have the following qualifications:

- Master's Degree from a University or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/or have accreditation recognized by a foreign Accreditation Body, or an institution with accreditation as prescribed by a programme;
- other qualifications equivalent to a masters degree or other qualifications with experience recognised by the Senate; or
- a student currently pursuing full-time master’s programme under sub-regulation 6(a) at the University and recommended by the Faculty’s/Institute’s Graduate Studies Committee for status conversion to a doctoral programme with approval from the Dean/Director; or
- Bachelor Degree with distinction from the University or any institution of higher learning subject to what is prescribed by the Faculty/Institute and approval by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA); and/or with accreditation recognised by a foreign Accreditation Board.
- any other qualification recognised by the Senate obtained through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL); or
- fulfils other requirements prescribed by the programme (if applicable); and
- obtained APEL certification for doctoral (Level 8)
